The Nets beat the Raptors Friday night 102-98 as they now lead the series 2-1 going into their next game at home on Sunday. Joe Johnson scored a team high of 29 points followed by Deron Williams with 22 and eight assists. DeMar DeRozan had 30 points to lead Toronto followed by Patrick Patterson with 17.

Deron Williams vs Kyle Lowry seemed to be the rough matchup on the night. Williams was shooting hot early as he knocked down two quick threes, but Lowry wouldn’t back down and continued to be really aggressive to the point that he almost started a fight between D-Will and himself. Williams was driving to the basket when a whistle was blown, but Lowry slapped Williams on the arm after the whistle leading to the tension between the two.

With the game going back and forth for most of the first half, it just seemed like a matter of time before one team took over. And for Brooklyn when you ask Paul Pierce and Kevin Garnett, you receive. Paul Pierce had a huge dunk as he flew through the lane midway through the second quarter and soon after that Kevin Garnett took a dive for a loose ball that showed even a veteran of his age can get low for a big play. Those two plays really got the rather calm crowd going.

Later in the fourth the game seemed to be in the Net’s hands who were up by 15 points halfway through the 4th quarter, but Toronto went on a run and brought it to as close a one point towards the final minutes of the game. When Patrick Patterson missed a chance to tie the game at the line. The Raptors would not be able to make the comeback as Joe Johnson sealed it for Brooklyn by knocking down two from the line with 3 seconds left in the game putting the Nets up by four.

Game Notes:

Kyle Lowry fouled out in the 4th with 15 points
