The Brooklyn Nets played their season opening game in Detroit. They came out aggressive and showed promise as they scored the first 8 points, while Jarrett Allen showed up early with a defensive block on Blake Griffins dunk attempt. As the Nets pulled away in the first quarter going on a 12 point lead, the Detroit Pistons were able to make key offensive plays allowing them to tie the game 51-51 to close the first half.

As the Pistons opened the 2nd half they went on a timely run, going on a 13 point lead in the middle of the 3rd quarter. The Nets fought to hold off the Pistons; but as the 4th quarter winded down the Nets found themselves down 4 approaching the 1 minute mark; Guard Joe Harris drilled a well-timed 3 putting the Nets within 1 with 52 seconds to go. As time ran off the clock, the Pistons turned the ball over giving the Nets the opportunity to take the lead and win the game. At the .8-second mark Caris LeVert goes out of bounds, the Pistons sink their free throws and come away with the win defeating the Nets 103-100.915548108.jpg.0

Caris LeVert, despite the late game blunder added 27 points, 4 assists and grabbed 4 boards, alongside Spencer Dinwiddie and Jarrett Allen who combined for 30 points.

Andre Drummond comes up with a large double double, scoring 24 points, and 20 rebounds; while Blake Griffin and Reggie Jackson combine for 45 points.

The Brooklyn Nets will play the NY Knicks on Friday the 19th.
