The Nets are on a 5 game win streak, and tonight they hosted Lebron James and the Los Angeles Lakers in the Barclays Center. Will the Nets secure their 6th win with the King in town?

The Nets came out with confidence on both ends of the court, and with a monstrous early block on James by Jarrett Allen the Nets were out to prove a point. D’Angelo Russell brought his game against his former team finishing the first quarter with 11 points and that Nets were up 1 (33-32) entering the 2nd.

Russell’s offensive tenacity carried over into the 2nd quarter as he lea the Nets to an early run. But the Lakers would answer back with as they took a 1 point lead (47-46) late in the 2nd. The Nets would show their defensive abilities, and as Spencer Dinwiddie looks to show why he deserves his new extension he closed out the 1st half with a jumper to give the Nets 5 point lead (62-57)

As the 2nd half was underway an early trey from Joe Harris put the Nets up 5. The Lakers offense continued to struggle. Unable to make open 3’s -or free throws- Brooklyn goes up 11 late in the 3rd.

Brooklyn entered the 4th with aggression, with even Jared Dudley dancing under the basket… But the Lakers would fight back as they cut the Nets lead to 8 with 6:40 left on the clock.

With Brooklyn up 6 down the stretch, they would look to close out the game; and as D’Angelo Russell drains a trey looking to seal the game, Lebron would answer back with a 3 of his own, as the Lakers trailed by 3 with 17.4 on the clock. But the Nets would come out victorious as they claim their 6th straight win; defeating the Lakers 115-110.

Dudley Lights Up- Jared Dudley came alive, making key plays, and some highlights shots under the basket. He finished with 13 points and 5 boards.

6 Players in Double Figures- The ball movement tonight was a thing of beauty, as 6 players found themselves in double figures.

Freethrow Woes- Lebron James had a rough night from the line. Missing 5 free throws against the Nets was tough, especially when you lose by 5 points. He still finished with 36 points, grabbed 13 boards, and dished 8 assists.
