December 7, 2015, New York City Warriors’ star player, Stephen Curry, defended his wife, Ayesha, after she faced backlash for her “modesty” tweets. Although Stephen admitted to laughing at some of the memes made in response to Ayesha’s remarks, he was surprised people were offended, according to basketball analyst, Rosalyn Gold-Onwude.

“All Ayesha did was express her style preference,” Stephen said. “It was not a judgement.” He added that he is proud of how his wife has handled the controversy, describing her attitude to the drama as “upbeat.” Among the criticism Ayesha received were accusations of being self-righteous, insecure, and a “slut-shamer.”

“I’m pretty sure some people look up to Ayesha because of what she stands for, how she carries herself, and her priorities,” Stephen commented.

Who knew the word classy was so offensive?
