The Jets needed to make moves in the secondary and have created a whole new unit in 3 days. After the Jets stole Revis back from New England on Tuesday, New York also signed Antonio Cromartie back.

According to multiple reports, cornerback Antonio Cromartie has signed a four-year deal with worth $32 million. That makes the deal the same total value of the deal he signed with the team and failed to see out in 2011.

This move doesn’t come as very shocking to many after the Jets made it official with Revis later Tuesday night. It has been known that Revis has done his recruiting for his former teammate to return mentioning he wants “Batman and Robin” back together in New York. It also doesn’t surprise me due to the fact that Todd Bowles has familiarity with Cromartie after their time spent in Arizona together. Bowles runs a defense that relies on his corners to play on an island and it was only fitting that the Cardinals released him this past week. Even Cromartie’s teammate, Patrick Peterson, mentioned that all Antonio ever talked about was New York according to an Arizona reporter.

The two moves combined will change a position that was once a weakness to a strength heading into the new season. Back in 2012 when the two played alongside each other, New York ranked second overall in passing yards per game the 8th ranked passing defense in the league. The Jets will continue their free agency spending by now putting their efforts into finding help at safety.
