There was a lot to be excited about upon watching the Giants in practice Thursday. First off, Eli Manning looked good out there. He was poised and making accurate throws in both the no huddle, and huddle offense. Manning was moving out there, and threw some really nice downfield throws.

At the running back position, Shane Vereen looked really good, and stood out. He looked quick in hitting holes, and had a burst in his run. Vereen really impressed and looks healthy. Rashad Jennings also looked good while taking reps with the second team. Andre Williams didn’t get many reps, but ran the ball hard and made the most of his reps.

The secondary is what really stood out today.

Mike Harris was all over the field. His athleticism was on display, as he stuck with receivers and had a couple pass deflections. He had an interception in a drill and didn’t look intimidated by anyone he was matched up against. Bennett Jackson also looked good in the secondary. Towards the end of practice, Jackson showed his versatility and play-making abilities by getting an interception and taking it to the house.

The catch of the day goes to Dominique Rodgers-Cromartie, which came on an interception on a ball thrown Victor Cruz‘ way. Rodgers-Cromartie got elevation and caught the interception and maintained the catch to the ground. It was a play that drew applause from the crowd, and made photographers check to see if they got that on film.

Thursday there were a lot of good things on display, and Friday looks to be just as promising.
