Brooklyn Nets

Nets Waive Anthony Bennett.

The Brooklyn Nets waived former number one overall pick (2013) Anthony Bennett today. Bennett averaged 5.0 ppg and 3 rebounds in 11 minutes of action in 23 games for the Nets.

This was the 4th team that he has played for since the Cleveland Cavaliers drafted him. Bennett also had short stays with the Minnesota Timberwolves and his hometown Toronto Raptors. Bennett just could not find a role on the Nets roster.

Some of the problems that he exhibited in college (UNLV) followed him to league. Though he was 6’7 he was undersized at the PF position in the league. His shot selection was questionable and he seemed to lack energy on the defensive end.

It remains to be seen if he will picked up by another NBA team this season or in the future to continue his professional career.
