December 7, 2015, New York City As if the Brooklyn Nets haven’t had enough problems this season, Nets rookie forward Rondae Hollis-Jefferson will have surgery on his broken right ankle. Jefferson’s injury occurred during practice after losing to the Knicks 108-91. This is the second time that Jefferson has suffered an ankle injury. His first ankle injury occurred in a preseason game against the Philadelphia 76ers, as he was, according to foxsportsgo.com, chasing down a loose ball, attempted to corral it, put on the brakes a step prior to reaching the baseline, and landed awkwardly. After his most recent injury during practice, the team told the nydailynews.com, “He has a non-displaced fracture of the posterior talus in his right ankle. The timetable on his return will be established after his surgery which will be next week.”

Nets forward Bojan Bogdanovic took Hollis Jefferson’s spot in the starting lineup in the Nets 114-98 loss to the Golden State Warriors, bringing the Nets to a 5-15 overall record. Despite Jefferson averaging just 5 points per game, he has impacted the Nets in a positive way on the defensive side of the ball; averaging 5 rebounds a game and 2 steals.

Jefferson is scheduled to undergo his surgery next week. The Nets will look to bounce back after a rough loss to the Golden State Warriors as they will face the Houston Rockets on Tuesday, December 8th at Barclays Center. One of the Nets five wins has come against the Houston Rockets. That will be the second of a six-game home stand.
