After the disappointing sweep at the hands of the Marlins, the Mets now travel to Washington DC for three games, before coming back home for three against the Marlins. The Mets season is certainly hanging in the balance and they must start to climb in the standings before ending up in too big of a hole.

The Mets were able to take two out of three from the Nationals in their other meeting this year. They were led by strong performances from Matt Harvey and Dillon Gee. Washington comes in having lost two of three to the Braves and now sit a disappointing game under .500. This is certainly the series that a team like the Nats, with championship aspirations, would like to dominate.

Here are the pitching matchups for this week’s games:

Tuesday vs. Nationals 7 pm: Jeremy Hefner (1-5 4.74 ERA) vs. Jordan Zimmerman (8-3 2.37 ERA)

Wednesday vs. Nationals 7 pm: Dillon Gee (3-6 5.68 ERA) vs. Dan Haren (4-6 5.09 ERA)

Thursday vs. Nationals 7 pm: Shaun Marcum (0-6 5.71 ERA) vs. Stephen Strasburg (3-5 2.54 ERA)

Friday vs. Marlins 7pm: Matt Harvey (5.0 2.17 ERA) vs. Jose Fernandez (3-3 3.34 ERA)

Saturday vs Marlins 1 pm: Jonathon Niese (3-5 4.40 ERA) vs. Kevin Slowey (1-5 4.16 ERA)
