March 20, 2015, New York, NY –  After a surprising win against the San Antonio Spurs on Tuesday night the N.Y Knicks have lost their fire in a 95-92 defeat against the Minnesota Timberwolves.
As the nights game went underway the teams triumphed with point guard, Langston Galloway who scored 21 points and guard, Kevin Martin with 22 points by the final quarter. Gorgui Dieng striving to the teams side finished with 19 points and 11 rebounds and his barred shot sparked the fast break which set up Zach Laverne’s free throws.
Currently, New York (14 – 54) and Minnesota (15-53) rank the lowest amongst their venerable opponents in the NBA. New York’s defeat now places them at the bottom for the NBA’s No.1 draft pick. Despite, this N.Y., setback Minnesota terminated their six-game losing streak and New York will have more ping pong balls in the NBA lottery
Though injury acclaimed both teams it did not leave the Timberwolves short of a win, In a desperate need for a player, Minnesota team administrators signed guard Sean Kilpatrick to a 10-day contract. The rookie from the Delaware 87ers’ of the NBA development League served well with the team, despite meeting players 45 minutes before the start of the game.
With players Anthony Bennett, Kevin Garnett, Justin Hamilton, Gary Neal and Ricky Ledo out for the Knicks, they signed guard Ricky Rubio from the Texas Legends of the NBA D-League on Thursday.
During the third quarter New York and Minnesota were tied with 69 points, it took only a couple of New York’s slow retrievals that had them clinging and eventually losing to a two-point lead they had in the fourth quarter.
Following the Knicks blow to the Timberwolves, Coach Derek Fisher commented,“When your mind is not completely engaged its tough to get your body engaged.” The coach further added “I thought [the loss] had a lot to do with why it was difficult for a number of our guys to find rhythm tonight.”
While, the arena groaned at the Timberwolf players who stepped on the court the fans know the fate of the New York Knicks will be held in the June 2015 NBA draft decision.
The Knicks are scheduled to visit Wells Fargo on Friday, March 20, in a match against the Philadelphia 76ers.
