Jets Return To Florham Park

The New York Jets have left their training facility in Cortland, NY to finish off their last week of training camp in Florham Park, NJ. This is coming off a 25-17 win over the Cincinnati Bengals on Saturday Night. The Jets were trying to seek redemption after a 49-9 loss to the Bengals last season.

Now moving forward, the Jets are looking to figure out the severity of the injuries to their starters. Dee Milliner, Jeff Cumberland, Chris Ivory and Eric Decker all missed their last preseason game due to injury. Jalen Saunders was released from the hospital Sunday morning and was on the sideline for practice Monday, but wasn’t involved in any drills.

Quinton Coples and Jason Babin have had a nice unofficial competition. There was speculation about job security when Babin received more snaps than presumed starter Coples in their last preseason game. There was a continued rotation coming into practice so its definitely something to watch out for.

Geno Smith has been taking most of the first team reps and its not much of a quarterback battle as we initially thought. More and more its looking like not if Geno will start, but when will the announcement be made that he is the starting quarterback.

It looks to be an interesting week of practice leading up to their matchup Friday against rival New York Giants at MetLife Stadium. Both the Jets and Giants will be looking to keep a perfect preseason record in tact.
