The New York Jets finish off their preseason schedule with a 24-18 victory over the Philadelphia Eagles.  Being the final game of the preseason it was a last chance for some to make the roster.  The Jets rested the top third of their roster which gave some of the bottom feeders much needed reps to prove their worth.

Veterans Matt Flynn and Josh Johnson, definitely did that combining for 17-26 for 218 yards, but the  2 TDs and 1Int came from Flynn.  Still performing in what amounted to a rest week for the Jets the Qbs were released.  The NY Jets look to be saving money and staying away from the extra veteran guaranteed contract by releasing Josh Johnson and Matt Flynn.  GM Mike Maccagnan seems to be ok going into the regular season with Rookie Bryce Petty as the lone back up until Geno Smith returns in October.

After being released Veteran Flynn tweeted the news,  along with a picture of a Bloody Mary Saying its on to the next one Cheers.  Paraphrasing of course, but Flynn was in high spirits and why not he just made $60,000 in about 2 weeks of work!  Good luck to Flynn after another big pay out for a small sample size and Good luck to the Jets with Cleveland up next week.
