Who is LeSean McCoy? If you just started watching football this year that might actually be a question you would ask yourself. The star running back for the Philadelphia Eagles is off to a horrible start this season. The same guy who was picked first overall in many fantasy drafts this year is averaging a dismal 2.9 yards per carry so far this year. In fact he’s been producing so badly that many people are questioning if he is playing hurt. Those questions have been shot down, but in all seriousness it does make you wonder what is going on with the guy.

The Giants haven’t done a good job stopping the run this year and have let up some big running plays in the last few games. They are not overlooking “Shady” when it comes to this Sunday night’s game in Philly.

“I don’t believe any of that. I know Shady, he’s a special football player. He’s special, any second that you don’t pay attention to his dangerousness, for lack of better words, he hits you, he busts one out of the gate, he makes an amazing play, so always being aware of him,” said Giant’s linebacker Jameel McClain.

Jason Pierre-Paul is also aware of what McCoy can bring to a game and continued on what McClain had to say about the Eagles running back.

“It doesn’t matter about the numbers. At the end of the day, he is still the same running back. Nothing has changed. As soon as you forget about him, he has 100 or so yards, probably in the first quarter. Not even by the half, by the first quarter. Then you are going to look stupid. It doesn’t matter about the numbers with him. He knows what he can do.”

Tom Coughlin’s team has allowed 496 yards on the ground and 6 touchdowns this season. They’ve won their last three games, but continue to get beat on the ground.

“From day one it has been to control or stop the big plays. We have a number of big plays against. We continue to work on it and talk about it. It has been an objective since day one.”

With Chip Kelly running the Eagles fast-paced offensive attack the big plays are always a worry for opposing teams. And even though most of the Eagles big plays have been through the air, they certainly have the players to make it happen on the ground. The Giants just don’t want that to start this week.
