Henry Hynoski, a big reason why the New York Giants were able to win the Super Bowl in 2011, injured his left leg during Wednesday’s organized team activity, and will undergo surgery on Friday to repair the ligament and the fracture.

This news comes as a blow for the Giants, as Hynoski underwent an MRI on Wednesday afternoon and was examined by team physician Dr. Russell Warren at The Hospital for Special Surgery. The tests showed that Hynoski suffered an injury to his medial collateral ligament and a chip fracture to the lateral plateau. Warren will perform the surgery.

The plan is for Hynoksi to be ready by week 1, but one never knows how someone will respond and how quickly they will recover after undergoing  surgery. Hopefully his target to be ready by week 1 will be correct.
