DeSean Jackson to Roc Nation?

ByVernon McKenzie

Jun 3, 2013

It has been reported by NFL.com’s Albert Breer that DeSean Jackson of the Philadelphia Eagles fired his agent, Drew Rosenhaus and their is speculation that he is preparing to sign with Jay-Z’s newly formed Roc Nation Sports. This would be Roc Nation Sports third major haul this off-season, after reeling in New York Yankee’s second basemen Robinson Cano, and the New York Jets 2013 2nd round pick, Geno Smith.

This news may have been a shock by some, as Drew Rosenhaus was able to get DeSean Jackson the contract extension he coveted in March of 2012 (5-years, $47 million). His current contract has no guaranteed money past the 2013 season, which will most likely mean he will have to renegotiate after this year.

Jackson’s camp has made it clear that he is in no rush to sign with an agency and will take his time in doing so. Roc Nation Sports has surfaced due to Jackson’s desire for Rap Music, but it has yet to be seen how and if Roc Nation Sports will be able to their clients the long-term high money deals they are seeking.
