Big Blue Wins

NY Giants: The Giants are in Green Bay to take on the Packers, winner goes to the NFC Championship game against the San Francisco Forty Niners.  On the first drive the Giants were able to establish the passing game.  Eli Manning was able to find his receivers moving the team down the field.  But drive was stalled by the Packers on the 21 yard line.   The Giants had to settle for a 31 yard field goal, Giants 3-0. After a week off, the Packers were showing a little rust dropping passes. Rogers was also showing the rust missing a wide open Donald Driver for a sure touchdown.  The Packers would have to settle for 47 yard field goal 3-3.

On the Giants next possesion, Eli was still able to find his receivers, connecting with DJ Ware for 19 yards.  On the next play Eli finds Hakeem Nicks for 66 yards and the touchdown.  Giants leading 10-3. Finally the Packers would get their rhythm, Rogers was spreading the wealth. Finding three different receivers finally connecting with J. Kuhn for the 8 yard and the touchdown.  The game  tied 10-10 in the 2nd quarter.

The Giants would finally get a break – fumble by the Packers on their own  34 yard line, recovered by Aaron Rolle who returns it 10 yards to Packers 28 yard line. But the Giants would have to settle for a field goal, Giants go up 13-10. The Giants on the next possession – with time running out  Manning from the shotgun 37 yards to Hakeem Nicks for the hail mary touchdown.  Giants take a 20-to-10 lead into the lockeroom at halftime. 

In the 3rd quarter both teams struggle to get anything going.  Both defenses were making plays, not allowing either Aaron Rogers or Eli Manning to get into a rhythm.  The Giants take a 20-to-13 lead into the fourth quarter.  But things finally started to change for the Giants, late in the 4th quarter fumble by the Packers recovered by Giants Chase Blackburn who returns the ball down to the Packers 8 yard line. On the next play Eli Manning to Mario Manningham for 4 yards and the touchdown  30-to-20 Giants.  The Giants would go on to win and head to the NFC Championship game 37 to 20 at the final.
