The Yankees return to the Bronx this week after spending the last 10 days playing on the west coast. The return comes at a good time as the Yanks offense really stalled out west and led to a 4-6 trip.

Now the Los Angeles Dodgers will come to the new Yankee Stadium for the first time, bringing a 29-39 record into the action. A notable person coming to New York with the Dodgers is their manager Don Mattingly, a fan favorite during his long and prolific career with the Yankees. Mattingly was passed over for the Yankees managerial job in 2008 that went to Joe Girardi.

After welcoming the Dodgers the Yankees will have a big four game set with the Rays, who are two games back of the Yankees for third place on the American League East. The Yankees will need to put up a strong effort to hold off the pesky Rays’ attack.
