New York City, N.Y.- Coaches often preach execution in order for their teams to achieves its expectations. The Villanova Wildcats displayed that in a wire to wire 87-68 victory over the Butler Bulldogs. The win sends Villanova to their 4th straight Big East Tournament Final, with a chance to win back to back conference championships.

All five starters scored in double figures for the Wildcats, led by Mikal Bridges 18. The highest scorer for the Bulldogs was Kelan Martin with 13 points.

Villanova opened the game on a 21-0 run. Yes, you read that right. The Wildcats always had an answer for Butler in the first few minutes of the game, ultimately sealing Butler’s fate. Both teams played to a draw in the second half, with the game never threatening to change.

For Butler, this was the largest margin for a loss they suffered all season. They fall to 1-5 all time in Big East Tournament games and 0-1 in the semifinal round.

The Big East Tournament Final will kick off March 10th at 6:30pm between Providence and Villanova.
