Former Knick forward Chris Copeland, his fiance Katrine Saltara and another woman was stabbed outside popular NYC  club 1oak Wednesday in the wee hours of the morning. That same morning, Atlanta Hawks Pero Antic, 32, and Thabo Sefolosha, 30 — were busted for allegedly interfering with cops investigating the stabbing.

Copeland, a 6-foot-8 forward from New Jersey, played in 56 games with the Knicks during the 2012-13 season, his rookie year. He signed with the Pacers in 2013 as a restricted free agent and is in the second year of a two-year deal.

The current Indiana Pacers forward underwent surgery Wednesday on his abdomen and left elbow for stab wounds sustained early morning in New York City. He was in stable condition at a New York City hospital and discharged on Friday.

details via New York Post:

The NYPD said the incident occurred just before 4 a.m. outside the 1Oak Club on West 17th Street. Shevoy Bleary-Murdock — who had been listening in as the couple argued — allegedly whipped out an illegal, black-handled switchblade and went “wild” when Copeland, 31, angrily objected to his eavesdropping, the sources said. “The couple starts to fight and the perp intervenes, trying to separate them,” one source said. “That’s when the NBA player turns to the perp and yells, ‘What are you looking at? F–k off! “That was it. That was the straw that broke the camel’s back” according to the source.

The Pacers were in town to play Knicks Wednesday night. The Hawks were in town and played the Brooklyn Nets the evening before.

When asked about the update before the Pacers played the Detroit Pistons, coach Frank Vogel expressed doubt that Copeland will be in attendance when the team hosts the Oklahoma City Thunder on Sunday night at 6 p.m.

As for the Sefalosha and Antic arrest, the National Basketball Players Association is investigating, the details surrounding the arrest have come under intense scrutiny. Sefolosha sustained a fractured tibula during the incident, and he was also charged with resisting arrest and disorderly conduct. ESPN reports that his fracture went untreated overnight and into Wednesday while he was in police custody, and that Hawks officials have privately begun to raise questions about the specific circumstances that led to that happening. Needless to say Sefolosha is out for the remainder of the season.
