The bank was open all night for the New York Knicks, as they came away with a hard fought road victory in Atlanta with a final score of 95-91. After blowing a 17-point lead midway through the 2nd quarter, the Knicks found themselves trailing by 3 headed into the 4th. The Knicks went on a 20-4 run in the final 7:33 in regulation to secure James Dolan’s guarantee.

With the Knicks trailing by 5 points with 4 seconds left in the 3rd, Carmelo Anthony took an off-balance shot which he luckily was able to bank it in. This gave the Knicks much needed momentum heading into the 4th, as they were clearly outplayed for the first 12 minutes of the second half. Andrea Bargnani was also able to go to the bank, nailing a crucial 3-pointer with 2:46 left to point the Knicks up 9. Bargnani came up huge last night as he played his best overall game since being traded. I believe Bargnani is more comfortable on the road, as he doesn’t have the Knick fan-base booing him as early as the 1st quarter. When he plays on the road he is able to focus, ignore the crowd and just play basketball. His 2 best games have come on the road, November 8th in Charlotte and last night in Atlanta.

Up next for the Knicks are the Houston Rockets tonight at 8pm EST on TNT at Madison Square Garden. This marks the second time Jeremy Lin will return to the Garden after leaving the Knicks for the Rockets in free agency 2 years ago. James Harden is a game time decision, as well as Chandler Parsons. Once again this should be a highly contested game, and most likely will come down to the 4th quarter. The Rockets have been struggling as of late, dropping 3 out of their last 4 games (3 of them went to overtime). With the Knicks low on bodies in the frontcourt, they will have to find a way to stop Dwight Howard and force the Rockets to beat them in a different way. The Knicks have not won at home since their season opener on October 30th when they defeated the Milwaukee Bucks 90-83.
