The Rangers got off to yet another slow start by giving up 2 goals in the first 15 minutes of play, but would rally late and end their losing streak with a 4-3 shootout win over the Calgary Flames.

Mikael Backlund and Curtis Glencross got the Flames off to an early lead but that would only last for 25 seconds. Derek Stepan would cut the lead in half with a quick wrist shot. Later in the second, Carl Hagelin would get the lone goal of the period with a wraparound goal assisted by Benoit Pouliot and Dominic Moore.

Sean Monahan gave Calgary another one goal lead less than 5 minutes into the third that put the Rangers on their heels once again. Chris Kreider would once again score a game tying goal in the third period and Henrik Lundqvist would give the Rangers a chance to win the game.  Mats Zuccarello, Brad Richards, Dominic Moore, and Benoit Pouliot would score in the shoot-out and lead the Rangers to a well-deserved win at MSG.
