In college hoops, the St. John’s Red Storm lose a hard fought game to the Pittsburgh Panthers, 63-47 at Madison Square Garden. JaKarr Sampson led the Red Storm with 14 points, while Sir’Dominic Pointer led the team in rebounds (8) and assists (3). The Red Storm were in a close game until Pitt went on a 13-2 run. Pitt’s Tray Woodall led the team with 25 points. He hit two huge 3- pointers, which put an end to St. John’s chance of making a comeback. The Red Storm fall to 16-11 on the season. They are also 8-7 in the Big East Conference.
Next up, the Red Storm head to Rhode Island to take on the Providence Friars. The game will be on Saturday, March 2 at 8:00pm.
