Brooklyn Nets: In the second game of their prolonged road trip, the Brooklyn Nets defeated the Dallas Mavericks by a score of 113-96. Brook Lopez led the way with 38 points, one shy of his career high, in addition to grabbing 11 rebounds.
 
The Dallas native Deron Williams added 31 points, 26 of which came in the second half. Williams had considered signing with the Mavericks in the offseason, before signing with Brooklyn. While he insisted that there was no special significance for him in returning home, he certainly came out in the second half at an extra gear to lead the Nets to victory.
 
The Nets fell behind early, trailing 32-22 after the first quarter. In the second quarter however Andray Blatche came off the bench and dropped all 14 of his points to bring the Nets into a 51-51 tie at halftime. In the second half the Nets were able to pull away, led by Williams and Lopez.
 
Dirk Nowitzki led the Mavericks with 16 points, but did not get to the line once. Reggie Evans added 22 rebounds for the Nets, his sixth 20-rebound game of the season, which leads the NBA. Up next on this road trip is a Saturday night clash with the Los Angeles Clippers. The Clippers will be looking to avenge an early season loss to the Nets, in addition to keeping pace at the top of the West as they current sit in a three way tie for 3rd with the Memphis Grizzlies and Denver Nuggets.
