Knicks lose final preseason game; Unveil new MSG

The New York Knicks blew a double digit lead to the Charlotte Bobcats last night, losing 85-83. It was their final preseason game before hosting Milwaukee Bucks on October 30th on opening night. J.R. Smith and Amar’e Stoudemire both made their preseason debuts and received a loud ovation from the crowd. This also marked Metta World Peace’s first game in MSG as part of the home team since his St. John days.

The story of the night however was unveiling the $1 billion renovations of the ‘new’ MSG. After the 3 year project, the garden was rocking and filled with good vibes. No matter where your seats are, you couldn’t help but notice the beauty that went into what is already the World’s Most Famous Arena.

Although the Knicks would have liked to ended the preseason on a winning note, even Coach Woodson was in a good mood telling reporters at his press conference ‘thankfully this one didn’t count.’ With J.R. Smith suspended for the first 5 games of the regular season, it will be interesting to see who will fill in his shoes and how the Knicks will rally around last years’ 6th man of the year. One thing is for sure, players and fans are happy that basketball is back!
