The Knicks fans had their eyes on two games Friday night. Besides winning out the Knicks would need some help to get into the playoffs. Any combination of two Knicks losses or Hawks wins would spell the end of the Knicks playoff chances. Knicks would be in Toronto to take on the Atlantic division leading Raptors. While the Hawks would head to Brooklyn to face the Nets. For once, Knicks fans would be rooting heavily for their cross town rivals.

Carmelo Anthony would have 30 points to lead the Knicks to victory. Amare’ Stoudemire had 24 points to go along with 11 rebounds to complete a double double on the night. Stoudemire’s great play this season will leave a tough decision for Phil Jackson on what to do with Amare’ in the future.

Toronto was led by point guard Kyle Lowry who had 26 points. The same Kyle Lowry who was surrounded by trade rumors earlier this season, many of which had him headed to New York. DeMar DeRozan added 25 points but it wasn’t enough as the Knicks edged the Raptors 108-100. Jonas Valanciunas would have a double double with 21 rebounds and 14 points.

The Hawks however would beat the Nets dropping the number down to one game (Hawks win or Knicks loss) away from New York being eliminated. The Knicks will host Chicago on Sunday with hopes that their playoff hopes will still be alive. The Knicks and Hawks each have three games left which all have to go the Knicks way for the Knicks to make the playoffs. The Knicks would have to win out beating Chicago, Brooklyn, and Toronto. While the Hawks would have to lose out starting Saturday night against the Heat. Unfortunately, the Knicks could see themselves get mathematically eliminated on Saturday if the Heat lose to the Hawks.
