Jets Green & White

Cortland, NY:  The Jets wrapped up week two with the annual Green and White scrimmage at Suny Cortland campus on Saturday.  Practice began at 6pm and fans from near and far were there to show their support, shouting the names of their favorite athletes and cheering them on as the team practiced.

There was a noticeable difference between the two quarterbacks.  Marc Sanchez looked sharp even though key players were out due to injury.  All eyes were on Tim Tebow.  He looked well behind the curve and, when talking to media, Tebow remained positive.

Coach Ryan said he was disappointed with the Tebow’s play:  “He needs to get a better handle on the offense, understanding the plays and execute them better.”

When asked about the overall tempo of practice, linebacker Bart Scott said he was pleased with the performance of the defense.  The Jets first pre-season game may be without their No. 1 receiver, however.  On Friday, the Jets play the Cincinnati Bengals and it’s doubtful that Santonio Holmes, who is suffering from a rib injury, will be playing – x-rays revealed no fracture but there is no timetable for his return.
