Today the Nets parted ways with veteran forward Thaddeus Young. He was traded to the Indiana Pacers for the 20th pick in tonight’s NBA Draft. The Nets without much wiggle room have to use some of the assets that they have to acquire some younger players and revamp their roster. Young was one of the bright spots in what was a dismal season for the Nets. The Team finished with a record of 32-50 as they struggled to keep pace with the rest of the league this season.

Young averaged 15 points and 9 assists while shooting over 50% from the floor. Thaddeus was also a fan favorite here in Brooklyn, it will be sad to see him go as he gave his all on the court every night for the Nets. Thad is the second big name to leave the roster; Joe Johnson was waived near the end of the season.

The Nets will miss his tenacity on the boards and overall hustle on the court. Thad will be missed but we wish him the best on his new team. Meanwhile it remains to be seen if the Nets will make any more moves before or after the draft.

Good Luck Thad!
