Ryan Callahan didn’t seem to let the news of his contract and trade discussions get to his head. Along with the rest of the blueshirts, Callahan came out flying and that work manifested into two goals for the captain. Henrik Lundqvist made 27 saves as the Rangers topped the hot Avalanche 5-1.

Callahan scored 2 goals just minutes apart in the 1st period. Things could have gone much worse if not for Semyon Varlomov, who has played sensational goaltending since signing his new contract extension with the team.

Gabriel Landeskog fired a puck right over Henrik’s right arm in the power play thanks to a great passing play from MacKinnon and Paul Stastny. Anton Stralman gave the Rangers the 2 goal lead once again after a point shot deflected in off of Matt Duchene.

Brassard scored early and Richards scores a late goal in the third as the Rangers finished off the Avalanche the same way they started.

Did You Know? : 5 different Rangers had at least 2 points. Only 2 Rangers failed to record at least 1 shot on net. Duchene, McGinn, and O`Reilly were each a -5.
