November 16, 2015, Queens, NY So now there are two. I’m talking about undefeated teams (and to many Giants fans, there should be one left). Tonight, the Houston Texas stifled the high-powered offense of the Cincinnati Bengals, 10-6. The win allows the Texan to be tied for first place with the Indianapolis Colts at 4-5. The Colts are still technically in first place because they have a better division record, 3-0 compared to the Texans 2-1.
When Brian Hoyer was knocked out of the game, backup quarterback T. J. Yates came in and threw the game’s only touchdown to DeAndre Hopkins. Yates completed 5 of 11 passes for 69 yards and no interceptions. Bengals QB Andy Dalton was 22/38 for 197 yards, to go with one pick.
Last year’s Defensive Player of the Year, J. J. Watt, is the heart and soul of this team, and while the Texans are not even at .500, they still have life due to the haplessness of the Colts (coupled with Andrew Luck being injured most of the season) and the fight-to-the-last-drop-of-blood spirit of Watt.
With less than a minute left in the fourth quarter, the Bengals were driving and in Texan territory looking like they might score until star wide-out A. J. Green fumbled and bungled a pass that was an apparent first down. The Texans ran out the clock to secure the victory.
Next up for the Texans are the 5-4 New York Jets. The game will be played at Texas’s home stadium, NRG Stadium. The Bengals Bungled not only the game, but their undefeated season as well.
