A Must Win

NY Knicks: What a game in Milwaukee!  The Knicks left it all on the floor. With their season on the line, tied with the Bucks for the final spot in the Eastern Conference playoff, Melo and crew were able to pull it out in the fourth quarter. When it looked as if the the Bucks were going to pull it off, leading by 8 points with 4:30 left in fourth quarter.

At the start of the game the Knicks came out like gang-busters – at one point there were up by 14 points. Carmelo was key, again carrying the offensive load with 11 points in the first quarter. The Knicks’ ball movement kept the Bucks off balance allowing the Knicks to get easy baskets. Landry Fields was key, slashing to basket for back to back dunks, chipping in 11 points on the night.

What can you say about the rookie Iman shumpert and his play over at last five games?  It’s been incredible.  Shumpert played the point for most of the night as Baron Davis was ineffective.  His defensive play should honor him as defensive player of month. When the Knicks needed stops down the stretch, Iman was the player assigned to stop the hot-shooting Monte Ellis.

Although the Knicks bench has been somewhat suspect over the last two games, J.R. Smith was huge down the stretch, defensively harassing Brandon Jennings and helping to contain Monte Ellis.  He nailed a big three-pointer with 54  seconds left to put the Knicks up by one.  The Knicks would win big on the road, defeating the Bucks 111 to 107.
